Creeping thyme (Thymus serpyllum or T. praecox) is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, mat-forming, evergreen perennial groundcover, typically growing 2–6 inches tall. It features tiny, fragrant leaves, trailing stems that take root, and dense clusters of pink, purple, or white flowers that attract pollinators. It is excellent for sunny walkways, rock gardens, and erosion control.
